I spent most of this summer with my new girlfriend, and she took me to this place that is very important to her. Of course I painted it. It's beautiful, we spent hours sitting in there with each other. The finished painting is done in alcohol ink and vodka. This means it wont last, in its current form. The colours are going to fade and change, probably really soon. It is not archivable or gallery worthy. I did this because I want to see how it will develop over time. Just like the relationship that inpired it, right now it is new and bring and colourful, and I am dearly looking forward to watching it chnage and develop into something we can't predict. One day, this version of this piece will only be avalible in print form. Which is kind of like how the early stages of a relationship often only exist in photos. And once it changes, I'll scan it again and make new prints maybe. Possibly paint a whole new version. But this one right here is a fleeting moment in time.
